How to Earn a Merit Badge

NOTICE: IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL SCOUT TO SELECT AND COMPLETE MERIT BADGES ON THEIR OWN INITIATIVE. MERIT BADGES EARNED AS PART OF A GROUP ACTIVITY ALONE WILL PROBABLY NOT BE SUFFICIENT TO ACHIEVE EAGLE SCOUT

1. Decide which Merit Badge you would like to earn.
   
   
2. Contact your counselor to let him/her know that you are working on the merit badge and to receive any special information or instructions he may have to offer.
   
   
3. Complete the merit badge requirements in accordance with any guidance by your merit badge counselor.
   
   
4. Make an appointment with your counselor to show them what you've done.
   
   
5. If youre merit badge counselor passes off your work he will fill out the blue card for that merit badge. He will keep one section and give you the other two sections, you keep the applicants copy for your scout notebook and give the last section to the Scoutmaster, Howard Lemmon
